This original charcoal drawing, titled "Rays at Dusk, Harris", captures a dramatic atmospheric moment in the Outer Hebrides. The artist utilizes the rich, velvety textures of charcoal to depict powerful sunbeams—crepuscular rays—breaking through a heavy, dark sky to illuminate the calm waters and silhouetted islands below.
The piece is elegantly presented in a wide white gallery-style mat and a minimalist black frame, which draws focus to the stark, tonal contrast and the ethereal quality of the light. It is a moody and evocative landscape that highlights the rugged beauty of the Scottish coast.
